About the Business

"SAGA is a contemporary fine dining restaurant perched on the 63rd floor of 70 Pine Street, a landmark Art Deco tower in New York’s Financial District. The restaurant is the sophomore project from Chef James Kent whose elevated casual restaurant, Crown Shy, is on the ground floor of the same building."

Had the 7 course dinner for boyfriend’s birthday. It lasted around 2 hours. The view of the place is great as everyone says. I had initially thought that good views equals bad food but not here. I think you get best of both worlds. My boyfriend and I don’t even like seafood but we gave it a try this time and we actually liked the seafood dishes on the course. I liked the timing of the course and service was of course great too. The only thing I didn’t really like is that the bathroom is two stairs down.

The dinner and the entirety of the experience was absolutely phenomenal. Came here to celebrate my 30th birthday and they treated us like we were friends and family for years. The service was like nothing I’ve experienced before and the food took me on a journey I hope to one day be able to go on again. The staff was considerate, attentive, friendly and just generally cool. The environment is exactly what you want in a fine dining establishment - the food, drink and aura of fine dining with the comfort of eating amongst friends and family. I couldn’t recommend this establishment enough, amazing experience that I hope to one day be lucky enough to experience again!

We had such a lovely time and this spot did not disappoint. The atmosphere was fantastic as you had to go all the way up to almost the top floor to access to the restaurant which was beautiful. We arrived in time to see the sunset on the balcony which we opted to stay out there to have our pre dinner cocktails and small bite. It was breathtaking. The dining room had an incredible 360 view all around. Food was so unique and delicious and the service was stellar. Our sever was extremely attentive and at the end they all sang happy birthday and brought me a tiny birthday cake! All the small touches made the experience so memorable and special. Highly recommend this restaurant!

Celebrating my birthday at SAGA was an experience that transcended dining. From the moment I stepped into the elegant space, I was captivated by the stunning views of the city skyline. The ambiance, a perfect blend of sophistication and warmth, set the stage for an unforgettable evening. The service was impeccable, with each staff member exuding an unparalleled level of attentiveness and knowledge. They seamlessly guided us through the meticulously crafted tasting menu, ensuring every course was a delightful surprise. The cocktails and mocktails were equally impressive, each sip a work of art that complemented the flavors of the dishes. The food itself was a masterpiece. Every dish was a harmonious blend of flavors, textures, and presentation. The attention to detail was evident in each bite, from the delicate balance of sweet and savory to the artistic plating. The progression of courses was thoughtfully designed, building anticipation and culminating in a truly memorable culinary journey. SAGA is not just a restaurant; it's a place where culinary artistry meets breathtaking views, and where every detail is meticulously considered. It's a place where memories are made, and where celebrations of life takes on a whole new meaning.

Located on the upper floors of 70 Pine, you can get private rooms here for groups. Appetizers passed around were ok. Best dish of the night was a lobster which was a little spicy and savory. The worst was a duck which had no flavor and didn't have a crispy skin. Service was not bad, but they didn't have any iced tea. Sort of surprising for a high end restaurant. Caviar starter was not bad.
