The Anderson School, PS 334, is a Kindergarten - 8th grade school started in 1987 to provide an accelerated and enriched curriculum for the distinct needs of gifted learners. Elementary and middle school grades are fully integrated within our highly successful K-8 school. With only two classes per grade, the relationship between students and teachers is personal and supportive. This smaller population fosters a strong sense of community among students who live throughout the five boroughs of New York City. Guided by educators who recognize the needs of gifted learners, Anderson provide intimate, differentiated, and departmentalized* instruction (*grades 5-8). The school encourages critical thinking, creative problem-solving, divergent thinking, research, independent study, collaboration, and self-evaluation through engaging and culturally relevant instruction. Anderson brings together a team of imaginative, caring teachers; an innovative administration; and committed and involved families who sustain Anderson through their very active participation.
Anderson occupies the first two floors of the William J. O'Shea Campus located on the corner of W. 77th St. and Columbus Avenue. The building also houses two middle schools, The Computer School and the Dual Language Middle School.

24 Jan, 2018I mean, my friend applied for this school. She’s really smart and she didn’t get excepted. I get good grades in my current school and got a good average on my state and math exam. I’m taking the test for the Anderson School pretty soon....I’m so nervous 😬... wish me good luck guys! ☺️NEST+M doesn’t ask for a test but this school does. I have very less confidence.

01 Jul, 2016Gotta say nothing better than chilling at the awesome subjects Anderson has, and I LOVE OUTDOOR LUNCH WERE WE EAT WHEREVER WE WANT FOR LUNCH OUTSIDE OF SCHOOL, and I like the YEARLY SLEEP-AWAY SCHOOL TRIPS WE'VE HAD SINCE FOURTH GRADE. We've visited Massachusetts (Plymouth rock), Philadelphia (on a battle ship), Camp Speers (2 nights, 3 days, at an awesome camp), in a few weeks we're going to Boston, and next year we go Washington D.C. Furthermore we are a gifted and talented school, and some of our teachers have fish. But one of the best things is that at our school we don't receive that much homework.

27 Mar, 2016Top-notch school. Anderson was a close-knit community that brought the best out of all of us and helped us realize all our potentials. All of the teachers there are really enthusiastic and truly love to see their pupils learn.

23 Sep, 2015My Daughter went to the Anderson School as a transfer Student for the 7th and 8th grade. It was an excellent experience for both the student and the parents. The best way that t can describe the experience: From the first email and first phone call (answered on one ring) to the graduation ceremony, everything was handled with efficiency, tact and intelligence. I perhaps called the school 3 or 4 times in the 2 years to get some information, every time I called the person who ANSWERED the phone had the answer! The education was excellent as well. The Anderson School may well be the best ORGANIZATION that I have EVER dealt with at any time.

21 Sep, 2016Amazing school. It's filled with some of the brightest and most talented, as well as friendly, kids in nyc. Even though I've only been here for a short time, ice learned so much and had an expierence of a lifetime.
