06 Oct, 2023Fred Sosinsky is nothing short of a miracle worker -- and lawyer. My son was arrested by the FBI and accused of a very serious federal crime down in North Carolina, a place neither he nor I had ever been. Although the local attorneys we hired were fine lawyers and good guys and did the best they could with a difficult situation, they did not have a full understanding of the role that my son's severe undiagnosed mental illness and developmental disability played in what happened. My son went to trial and was convicted. So post trial, we hired Mr. Sosinsky to look into this. Mr. Sosinsky quickly got a handle on the situation and referred my son to two of the very best psychiatrists in the country who together with his treating psychiatrist were able to evaluate him as having very serious conditions requiring specialized treatment and impacting on his ability to appreciate what was going on. Mr. Sosinsky took their reports and together with his own fantastic sentencing arguments convinced a very tough Southern federal judge that continued treatment, not a long term prison sentence, was the right judgment. The US Probation and federal prosecutors were looking to send my son to prison for years but Mr. Sosinsky saved his life.
